About MeThank you for visiting my site. The main purpose of this website is to give students and parents an introduction to my course, and to be able to access essential materials. Hopefully you will be able to find whatever you need on the main pages, as I have reserved this page to speak briefly of myself.
This year (2015) will be my second year at Independence High School teaching Chemistry and Physics. As a part of the Chemistry team at Independence High School, I work with the other teachers in my department to align our curriculums with each other. As a team our goal is to provide consistent instruction, and host a high expectations environment. |
Who Am I? |
Though I am qualified to teach any of the sciences, there is a special place in my heart for Chemistry and Physics. I have a passion for teaching the sciences, and personally believe that it is my responsibility to bring our education system into the next century by promoting a deeper understanding of scientific literacy. Along with teaching, I also have leadership roles as the sponsor for the IHS Japanese Culture Club, and as a sponsor for the IHS Science Olympiad Team.

My History |
With roots cultivated in Charlotte, I have a unique perspective on the city as someone who has grown up in the area, and attended area schools. In fact, my High School Alma Mater is Olympic High School. I graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Science Education and a concentration in Physics. Along with my major, I also minored in Japanese Cultural Studies. After graduating, I worked in Asheville before coming to Charlotte in 2014. My background and education have led me to my post today, teaching Chemistry, Physics, and sponsoring several clubs each semester.
